Utah's Civic Ascent: A Voting & Democracy Summit
The ACLU of Utah asks you to join them for a one-day summit designed to help Utahns take a more active role in shaping our democracy. This event will ground you in the current state of voting rights in Utah and show you how every eligible voter can directly influence the systems that impact our lives. That's what we mean by participatory democracy—communities where everyone has the power, tools, and access to take part.
- Hear from community partners and policy experts about the state of voting rights, election security, and the future of vote-by-mail and voter ID in Utah.
- Develop practical skills for discussing voting rights with confidence, advocating with lawmakers, and taking meaningful action—from voter mobilization to serving as a poll worker or watcher.

Meet the Senator! (for Forward Volunteers)
Come meet Utah’s newest Forward Party state senator, Emily Buss.
This gathering is an opportunity for Forward Party volunteers to meet the winner of the Senate District 11 special election, held to replace former Sen. Daniel Thatcher. With Sen. Buss’s re-election campaign shaping up to be one of our marquee races in 2026, this is a great chance to connect early with the public servant many of us will be working to support in the years ahead.
Dress is casual. Hors d’oeuvres will be provided, and a brief program will be followed by time for questions and informal conversation.

- Come ask questions, learn about Forward's Utah state party, and our newest party candidate, Sen. Emily Buss of District 11.
We’ll share what we’ve been working on, where we’re headed toward 2026, and how you can get involved this year—whether you’re brand new or already engaged.
Where: Magna Public Library - Large Conference Room (directly to the right as you enter the second set of sliding doors at the main entrance)
When: Saturday, January 31st from 10:00am to 11:30pm.
What: Food, drink, and good conversation will be available.
