Hey everyone, I’m Miles Pomeroy. I’m not your usual candidate for State Treasurer. I’m running to introduce the Forward Party to the people of Utah. I believe it’s important to give voters a real choice, and that means challenging the typical two-party system that controls our politics. By casting a vote for me, you’re investing in a vision for a stronger and more vibrant political future, not just for Utah, but for the whole nation.
What is the Forward Party?
The Forward Party isn’t on the fringe of politics, it’s the majority opinion. Time and again, it’s what Americans keep saying they want. Take a look at these national polls:
58% of Americans favor the creation of a viable third political party (Gallup)
40% of Americans identify as politically independent (Gallup)
The concept is simple: Forward candidates, like me, pledge to seek pragmatic, data driven, and collaborative solutions, without regard to ideology. We affirm our commitment to democracy, the Constitution, and rule of law.
Forward understands that the toxicity in our politics is the direct consequence of the imperfect way in which we conduct our elections. Politicians are rewarded for driving us further to the fringes, but we can change the system! That’s why supporting electoral reform is an essential priority that binds us together.
Unlike other third-party movements, the Forward Party is built from the bottom-up, not the top down. This means, as Utahns, we choose our own priorities. Beyond broad agreement about the need for election reform, there is no “platform” that we’re all mandated to fall in line with. The 150 candidates Forward has endorsed nationwide this year all have different local priorities, but we share the same approach to problem solving, and that’s what’s important.

But why vote for me?
A vote for me is not just a vote for a single candidate; it’s an investment in a brighter future - one that offers broader political choices and healthier competition beyond the tired two-party system. Our goals are ambitious, but they’re achievable. Building a viable competitor to the Republicans and Democrats won’t happen overnight.
By 2026, we will significantly expand our candidate roster, gain ballot access in other states, and promote our strategy in the media. Our goal is to achieve National Party recognition from the Federal Elections Commission (FEC) by 2028. That’s when the fun really begins.
Here in Utah, a single candidate needs to get at least 2% of the number of votes cast in all Congressional races for the party to maintain ballot access through the next cycle. Candidates for statewide positions (like Treasurer) are in the best position to accomplish this. A vote for me assures that the Utah Forward Party will continue to participate in future election cycles.

What will I do if I’m elected?
If elected, I will serve in the Office of the Treasurer with integrity. I will build on the legacy of past Treasurers while bringing new ideas. I will prioritize Utah’s financial stability and transparency, and make sure that the State Treasurer’s office stays focused on its main mission without political influences. My goals are:
- To maintain Utah’s AAA credit rating
- To increase transparency in financial reporting and returns on state investments, which includes making reports easier for Utahns to understand, and an annual report that compares Utah’s investment performance to other states
- To use my software engineering expertise to implement technical solutions that improve departmental efficiency, especially in managing Unclaimed Property
- To stay independent from national party politics, bickering, and grandstanding

Voting for me is more than just supporting a single candidate - it’s voting for a future where third-party options are a real possibility and where collaboration replaces division. Let’s come together to move Utah forward!
Thanks for taking the time to learn about my campaign, and I hope I’ve earned your vote.
Miles
